Nutrition coaching at Momentum is different from a diet plan. We use a science-based, individualized approach to investigate YOUR diet, rather than assigning a diet to help you add/eliminate certain foods and feel your best.
 
Preparing food can be a stress reliever or a source of stress, depending on you and your environment. We want to go beyond helping you make healthy food choices, and guide you on how to incorporate these foods into your daily life, regardless of your time, resources, or skills.  
 
Calories aren’t everything. Different people have different needs and no one should have to be hungry to be healthy. Hunger is your body’s way of communicating with you, but sometimes you need an interpreter. We can help!

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is appropriate for nutrition coaching?
  • Nutrition coaching is available for youth clients and adults. We recognize different ages throughout the lifespan have different needs, performance goals, and health histories. We work one-on-one with you to develop a nutrition plan that is appropriate for you. 
Is Nutrition coaching the same as dieting?
  • No, nutrition goals are very person specific. Some people are looking to change their body composition and weight; others are hoping to improve nutrition habits; or some may want to better understand decision making around food choices. This is why an individualized program, specific to your goals and priorities surrounding nutrition, is necessary. We won’t just give you a specific diet or meal plan, because our mission is to create a nutrition mindset that promotes health and longevity, while being practical to your life. 
DO I HAVE TO BE A CURRENT OR FORMER PATIENT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE NUTRITION PROGRAM?
  • No. Anyone looking to enhance their overall health and nutrition is welcome at Momentum.
Do the performance training, nutrition coaching, and physical therapy staff work together?
  • Collaborative, team-driven care is what we are about!! We all work together to support you and your goals. We want you to get the most out of your Momentum experience, but more so, your movement and performance journey as a whole. 
What are the packages you offer?
  • We offer a variety of packages, including 4-week and 12-week options, for both performance training and nutrition coaching. 
How long is a nutrition session?
  • Evaluations and follow up appointments are: 45 minutes.
How often are sessions?
  • Your coach will meet with you in person, over the phone, or via video chat on a weekly basis, in addition to connecting with you via email one time per week. This is designed to support and guide you through this process to help you reach your goals.
What can I expect from an evaluation?
  • During your first visit, you will work with your coach to establish your goals, expectations, and the approach we will take to address your needs and priorities. We will ask a variety of questions about the following topics: the things you enjoy and find challenging about nutrition, your lifestyle, activity levels, barriers you face in regards to nutrition, concerns, and hopes for the program. The assessment will establish our baseline from where we are starting together, and will set in place an initial plan to start working towards your goals! Recommendations will be made for the coaching package that will be most beneficial to you. 
Do I have to come in to Momentum for my sessions?
  • We are equipped to deliver nutrition coaching in person, over the phone, or via a secure Telehealth video system. You choose which option is best for you!
