Option #3: Hybrid Model
There may be times that a combination of in-person visits and Telehealth sessions may be most appropriate. Depending on your diagnosis/presentation, you and your therapist may feel that the education and exercise component of your treatment may be effectively performed from home. In the event that your therapist determines that your recovery would be aided by intermittent hands on techniques, we may recommend the use of a hybrid model of treatment.
Please call us at 508-422-0101 or email us at [email protected] with any questions or to schedule your physical therapy. Performance Training at Momentum will be reopening on Monday, August 3rd! |
MOMENTUM’S RESPONSE TO COVID-19
Our number one priority is the safety and well-being of everyone at Momentum. As a result, we will implement the following protocols:
To Keep with Social Distancing Recommendations
Momentum’s Safety and Cleaning Protocols
To Keep with Social Distancing Recommendations
- During our initial phase of reopening, we will limit the number of physical therapists working on any given day, as well as space out our administrative staff, to reduce the number of people within Momentum at any given time.
- We will provide more time between sessions for cleaning of the rooms and equipment between patients. This will also give patients time to enter and leave our building prior to the next appointment. Our therapist’s schedules will be staggered to minimize the number of people in the waiting area at one time.
- We will be asking all patients to call from your car to let us know that you have arrived for your appointment. We will then let you know when your therapist is ready for you to enter the building. This will reduce any possibility of overflow into our waiting area. We will be asking that people not congregate in our waiting room for the time being.
- For children receiving care, we will certainly allow a parent/guardian to attend visits if you feel it is necessary. For older children/adolescents that typically do not have a parent with them for therapy sessions, we ask that parents wait in their cars. We will ensure the therapist working with your son/daughter communicates with you via phone/email to answer any questions or concerns and to provide recommendations moving forward.
- For individuals who do not drive themselves to PT, we ask that your driver remain in his/her car during your appointment.
Momentum’s Safety and Cleaning Protocols
- All patients will undergo a health questionnaire, both at the time of scheduling and at the time of each appointment.
- Every person walking into Momentum (patients and staff) will have their temperature taken for safety reasons, as this can be an early sign of illness before other symptoms are present. Anyone with a temperature reading higher than 100.3 will be asked to reschedule their appointment.
- All of our staff members (clinical and administrative) will be wearing masks for your protection.
- We will ask that every patient entering our space wear face coverings. Please have a face covering on prior to entering Momentum. In cooperation with the executive order, all patients are required to wear face coverings at all times while in the clinic. No one will be allowed in the building without a face covering.
- Every therapist will be working in his/her own space and will thoroughly clean this space, along with any equipment used, before and after each appointment.
- We will ask that every patient wash their hands before and after their session.
- Door knobs and community spaces (bathroom, front desk area) will be thoroughly cleaned every hour.
- Momentum will have our space professionally cleaned multiple times per week.

MOMENTUM REOPENING FOR PHYSICAL THERAPY
Option #1: Remote Model - Telehealth (video) sessions
These sessions are delivered via a real-time, secure website that can be done from the comfort of your home. Telehealth can be advantageous for the following reasons:
These sessions are delivered via a real-time, secure website that can be done from the comfort of your home. Telehealth can be advantageous for the following reasons:
- Reduces your potential exposure to COVID-19
- Enables your therapist to work with you within your natural environment to help you directly address the daily activities and positions you do every day.
- May reduce your financial cost of receiving care, as many insurance companies are covering Telehealth without any cost to you (no copayments, deductibles, etc.). These are short-term incentives put in place to minimize exposure and are subject to change, depending on your plan.
- With our guidance, many conditions can be just as effectively managed remotely as they are in person. So much of what we do as PTs is to educate and empower you to take an active role in your care through teaching you strategies to manage your symptoms, improve how you perform your daily/sports related activities, and implement a targeted exercise regime to help you to move more effectively and efficiently. This can all be successfully accomplished through Telehealth.

- New patients can begin with either a Telehealth or an in-person evaluation. After meeting with your therapist, it can then be decided together, which option of care would best support your needs.
- For current patients who have been receiving Telehealth from us, your therapist will collaborate with you to determine the most beneficial course of treatment moving forward, and provide their recommendations about whether or not it would be helpful to schedule visits in the office to complement your current care.
